About Lil’ Dogs Resort

Who they are

Lil' Dogs Resort was designed by owner Carrie Krausmann around small dogs specifically. She explains the reason: "I designed and built what I couldn't find… A place where little dogs could stay without fear of big dogs, in a homelike, safe atmosphere." The stated philosophy is "to provide a state of the art Resort with little dogs unique needs in mind… without fear of big dog bullies." Krausmann and her family are described as Michigan Humane Society volunteers, puppy raisers for Leader Dog for the Blind and champion Chihuahua breeders.

Training

The training page states: "Lil' Dogs Resort believes there is nothing better than a well-mannered little pooch!" Obedience classes are listed at Puppy, Beginner and Intermediate levels, alongside private obedience and behavioral training, the AKC Canine Good Citizen Program, and classes offered to prepare for Therapy Dog International (TDI) certification. A note says positive reinforcement training classes "begin this Fall, call for reservations and details." Larger dogs are accommodated outside opening hours: "Why should little dogs have all the fun? We accept BIG and SMALL dogs after hours in our private training annex."
