About Long Hollow Bird Dogs

What they offer

Long Hollow Bird Dogs is the bird dog training business of Ryan Fortier, centrally located in Washington at Ellensburg and open to clients from across the Pacific Northwest. He trains pointing dogs, flushers and retrievers, whether for a hunting companion or a field trial dog, and offers a free evaluation of each dog. The site describes his years handling English Setters and Pointers to NSTRA field trial championships and training AKC Master Hunter retrievers.

Programs

The upland Head Start program is a one-month program for pointing and flushing breeds that focuses on development, gun breaking, here training, crate training and collar conditioning in a realistic setting with plenty of birds. Dogs that have finished Head Start, or have hunted a good season and are truly gun broke, move on to Started training, which runs at least two months and keeps the work realistic to preserve style and confidence. A separate retriever training program is also offered.
