About Lucky Dog Wash and Grooming

Force-free training at a College Station dog wash

Lucky Dog Wash and Grooming is a pet wash and grooming salon at 1713 Park Place in College Station that also offers dog training. Its trainer, Moriah Hudson, follows a force free training style built on mutual respect between dog and owner.

Method

Lucky Dog uses positive reinforcement only, with clicker training, praise and affection, and food-related incentives, introducing an alternative behavior that can be rewarded in place of corrections.

Programs

Training runs as day programs, with free doggy daycare for the length of the course: owners drop the dog off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon. The Basic Obedience program runs 2 weeks (10 days) and covers come, sit, place, heel with loose-leash walking, down and off. The Enhanced Obedience program runs 3 weeks (15 days), adds off-leash heeling, down from a distance, handling distractions and greeting, door and meal manners, and includes lifetime refreshers. A 1 week Specialty program works on one skill such as potty training, leash pulling, barking or leave it. Each course ends with a one-on-one handover session with the owner.
