About Mandeville Canine Academy
A school day for dogs
Mandeville Canine Academy is a dog obedience school at 924 Girod St. in Mandeville, opened in 2019 by professional dog trainer Ted Carlson and described as veteran owned and operated. Ted Carlson is credited with nearly 15 years of professional training experience and a science-based, 3-stage training process that the academy follows. Its School Days run like a normal school day: drop-off and play, an obedience class on the Skill of the Week, enrichment or exposure training, individual sessions and rest.
Programs and prices
A School Day is $35. Day Training is $500 a week or $125 a day, with dogs training Monday through Friday and going home at night. The board and train program covers basic obedience through behavior modification for dogs over 4 months, with dogs learning from Katie Carlson. The In-Home Premium Private Lessons Program is $1,200 for six lessons covering recall, sit-stay, down-stay, leave it, place and loose-leash walking. Private lessons for evaluations are $45 per 30 minutes, and boarding is $30 a night. Tricks and AKC title training are also offered.
What owners say
One owner wrote, "After just one week of Day Training, our 1 year old male Goldendoodle's behavior is unbelievable!"
