About Maple Run Dog Camp

Dog camp and training in Silver Lake

Maple Run Dog Camp is based in Silver Lake and was started in 2019 by Maddy, a native New Hampshirite. It offers dog camp, training, boarding and an online training course, built on the idea that dogs are happier when they can spend time unleashed and build confidence through outdoor adventures and time with other dogs.

Approach

Maddy uses Mark McCabe's Training Between The Ears system. Rather than micromanaging behavior, she works to find the root cause and change the emotion behind problems like reactivity, jumping, fearfulness, leash pulling and separation anxiety, so the dog learns to choose good behaviors on its own. Training also uses an E-Collar Technologies remote collar for communication, with a three-week program aimed at a reliable recall.

Training options

Options include one-on-one lessons at the owner's home or another location, e-collar training, a board and train of 1-4 weeks with follow-up and handoff to the owner, and puppy training. She helps with hyperactivity, anxiety, poor recall, reactivity and aggression, resource guarding, compulsive behavior, chasing cats or chickens and more.
