About Metro Dog Training

Metro Dog Training runs from a dedicated facility at 175 Powers St in Williamsburg, opened in 2024, which lets structured training and daycare operate under one roof. Its stated position is that all dogs can learn new habits regardless of age, size, breed or behavior issue.

The founder

Twahlee Rollins built his foundation working with California K9 Solutions (Cali K9), where the site says he trained hundreds of dogs and puppies across a wide range of obedience and behavioral challenges. He was recognized by New York Magazine as Best Dog Training in 2015 and appeared on Netflix's Canine Intervention. The site claims 3,000-plus dogs trained and 14-plus years of experience.

The system

The emphasis is on handler skill, timing, leash use and everyday management – giving owners tools they can keep using once formal sessions end. What the site says to expect is a checkable list: calm independence at home, reliable house manners, dependable recall, loose-leash walking in real environments, polite greetings with people, strong impulse control and calm behavior around distractions. Owners are taught to maintain expectations at home and in public so the dog's environment stays predictable.

How programs are bought

The process is unusually retail: choose the package that fits the dog's goals and check out online, then book the first private session on the scheduling page, then start. Tier 1, Obedience and Control, is four private in-home classes plus four group classes at $1,200 plus tax, aimed at dogs needing stronger obedience, better leash handling and more consistency. Tier 2, Advanced Training and Behavior, builds reliable obedience in high-distraction environments and develops off-leash control and advanced engagement. Board and train is offered as accelerated training with the dog staying in the structured program, and an in-person evaluation can be booked to start.

What clients describe

One review describes a dog with severe anxiety who went from hiding to seeking out people, parks, car trips and stores.
