About Mountain Paws Dog Training

What they offer

Mountain Paws Dog Training is a training studio on Academy Place in Colorado Springs run by Trudi Schoening. It teaches group classes, including Puppy Kindergarten with the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program for puppies under 11 months, a Bow Wow Basics class for older puppies and a Reactive Rover class for dogs that are reactive toward other dogs or people, plus private sessions in the studio or in the owner's home.

Puppy class

The puppy class meets once a week for an hour over six classes and covers socialization, handling and proper play, house training and potty schedules, teething and chewing, and cues such as sit, down, impulse control and recall, finishing with the S.T.A.R. Puppy test.

How they train

The site describes positive reinforcement, force-free training and welcomes dogs of all breeds with no breed restrictions. Its About page says Trudi attended the Animal Behavior College in 2007, ran a training business near Chicago for 11 years before moving to Colorado, and competes in scent work and agility.
