About Off Leash Obedience
Off Leash Obedience in Houston
Off Leash Obedience is a Houston training business founded by certified trainer Tori Hankey in 2010 to bridge the gap between obedience, behavior and the human-canine bond. Its training is personalized, low-volume and rooted in clear communication, starting from an evaluation of each dog's behavior, body language and learning tendencies.
The trainer
Tori Hankey is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) with over 18 years of experience in obedience, behavior and canine communication, and she has been certified through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers since 2010. She holds a Master's Degree in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary and works as a Canine-Assisted Psychotherapist, bringing a trauma-informed approach and a special interest in psychiatric service dog foundations.
Programs
In-Home Private Lessons bring the trainer to your home once a week for eight weeks to coach you through teaching obedience, manners and structure. Day Training suits busy families: the trainer works with the dog at home during the week, then meets with owners for transfer sessions. Service Dog Training prepares a dog for psychiatric service dog work in a hybrid format, starting with an assessment of the dog's candidacy.
