About Oh My Dog Daycare & Grooming Spa

Oh My Dog is best known locally as a grooming spa and small-dog daycare, but it has been running training classes in Western New York since 2008.

The training program

The school describes its Amherst facility as newly remodeled, sparkling clean and climate controlled, and says its experienced and certified training staff teach both dog training and puppy training classes there. Perfect Start Puppy Training is the entry class, built for puppies between ten weeks and five months, and the site frames puppy class as the foundation for lifelong learning and responsible ownership. The curriculum covers potty training, crate training and feeding schedules, and it socializes puppies with people from outside the household as well as with other dogs. A separate dog training class covers older dogs, and there is a training FAQ and a Meet the Trainer page.

An honest limit

The school states outright that it does not currently train dogs who are aggressive toward people or other dogs, and asks owners to say so in advance; it offers to suggest alternative trainers instead. Dogs over five months are directed to the adult class.

The rest of the business

Oh My Dog bills itself as Western New York's first human-grade pet spa and small-dog daycare. Daycare runs in a large playroom with a live webcam owners can check during the day, and full grooming is the other main service. Collars, leashes and training treats can be bought on site before a class starts.

Where it is
