Meet Alexis

One Dog's Bark is a dog training business in Central Arkansas owned by Alexis, an animal behaviorist. She holds two postgraduate degrees in Animal Behavior and has worked as a dog walker and trainer and volunteered in animal shelters. She specializes in canine behavior modification for dogs facing complex challenges, including aggression, bite histories, anxiety, fear, phobias, reactivity and overarousal.

Services

One Dog's Bark offers a free introduction phone consultation, virtual dog training, in-person dog training, puppy training and socialization, behavioral training, and group classes. Alexis builds a plan around your individual dog and lifestyle, looking at each dog's emotions, motivations, learning history and environment.

Method and sports

Training uses positive reinforcement, with food, toys, play, attention and access to the environment as rewards, along with management and enrichment. Alexis is also an active dog sport competitor who has titled multiple dogs in Barn Hunt, NASDA, Hide N Seek, Dock Diving, Disc Dog and Agility, and has competed at the UpDog International Finals with her deaf Border Collie, Saint. One client praised the video demos she sent after a session.
