What they offer

Paws4Life Service Dogs and Pet Training runs obedience training in basic, intermediate and advanced levels. Basic covers manners and the foundation for basic commands; intermediate adds drills, rallies, weaving, greetings and shoulder passes; advanced goes into side stepping, back heels, airport training and distraction work before a dog moves into the service dog ring. It also offers service dog and therapy dog training, private lessons and, more unusually, miniature pony service animal training.

How classes run

Classes operate in six-week cycles, with progression testing in the last week of each rotation, and an orientation class is held on Tuesday before classes start on Wednesday. The group asks for donations for classes and private lessons rather than setting fees.

Testing

It offers Canine Good Citizen, Urban CGC and Advanced Urban CGC testing with its own evaluators. Call to check the current class calendar and the training application.
