Overview
About Pet Behavior Help
Pet Behavior Help is a training center whose published address is 5410 Wendell Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27517, describing itself as being at a scenic location convenient to Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. The business has announced a move: its own banner states that from August 1, 2026 all classes are held at a new location at 2712 NC Highway 57 in Hillsborough.
The facility
The center sits on more than ten acres with three fenced grass fields and a covered arena. Two agility fields, both lit for night training, carry full sets of competition agility equipment including rubberized contacts and 24-inch weave poles; a third practice field is used for agility, obedience, rally and private behavioral lessons. The 50-by-50-foot covered arena, dirt-floored, hosts most obedience classes and many private lessons, and the site is candid that an outdoor setting means classes can be canceled for extreme heat, cold or rain.
Classes
Group classes meet for an hour a week over six weeks. Puppy classes run on rolling admission and cover early development. Obedience classes teach essential skills using positive techniques in a group setting. Rally is offered as a less physically demanding route to better communication and teamwork, agility starts with parkour before progressing through foundations and teams levels, and nose work is described as a scenting and hunting activity modelled on working detection-dog programs.
Behavior work
Dogs struggling with anxiety, reactivity or aggression are directed to private lessons with Val, whom the site describes as its certified canine behavior specialist and its owner. Behavior counseling begins with a two-hour evaluation.
Pricing
The center publishes its rates rather than quoting on request. A behavior-counseling evaluation is $275 at the training center or $350 at the client's home; ongoing behavior, obedience and agility lessons are $130 an hour at the center or $160 at the client's home. A six-week group class is $200 in total, with drop-ins available for some rally and agility classes. The business also publishes a policy of income-based discounts of 10 or 15 per cent to keep training affordable.
