About Pet N Play Luxury Pet Resort

Pet N Play Luxury Pet Resort sits on US-9W in Newburgh and is, first and foremost, a boarding and daycare facility – that is worth stating plainly, because the training program runs inside it rather than being the whole business. The resort is "Owned & operated by Middlehope Veterinary Hospital and with staff certified in dog body language and communication", and it publishes staffed care 24 hours a day.

The training program

The published training service is the Puppy & Young Canine Training Academy. It runs obedience classes for dogs six months and younger, plus individual one-on-one sessions for dogs that need more specialized attention. The facility describes "obedience classes for every level so you can build confidence as a handler", with owners actively participating rather than dropping the dog off – the emphasis is on the handler learning the skill alongside the dog.

What the classes cover

The published focus is fundamental commands and leash skills, with trainers preparing dogs "for off-leash control if that's something you would like to build up to in the future". Puppies enrolled in training also receive complimentary daycare on Mondays and Wednesdays so that they socialize with their classmates outside class time, which is a practical advantage of running a class inside a daycare building.

Everything else on the site

The rest of the published service list is boarding, doggy daycare, grooming, puppy services and activity packages, with vaccine and health requirements published separately for each. Anyone coming here for behavior work on an adult dog should ask what is available beyond the puppy academy, because the site's training page is written around young dogs.
