Store 2443, the Petco at 2241 Porter Creek Dr in Fort Worth, offers in-store dog training under the name Petco Dog Training in West Fort Worth. Owners pick between six-week group courses, where each hour-long class holds no more than five dogs, and one-on-one private sessions lasting 45 minutes.

Class menu

The group track starts with Puppy for dogs 8 to 16 weeks old (potty training, socialization and first cues), then Beginner for dogs 16 weeks to six months (leash manners, wait and leave it, plus tricks). Fundamentals suits dogs six months and older and works on jumping and barking, while Advanced adds heel and recall with distractions. On the private side, new customers can start with Private Lesson 101, and four- and six-session packs include a customized training plan.

Training hours

Trainers are on hand from 9am until 9pm Monday to Saturday, and from 9am until 8pm on Sunday. The training line is (682) 703-4393. Owners bring a leash and collar or harness, treats and proof of vaccinations.
