Dog training at Georgetown's Petco runs out of store 2426, 4610 Williams Dr, which also houses grooming, an animal hospital, a vaccination clinic and an aquatics department.

Programs

In-store group courses last six weeks, with hour-long sessions and no more than five dogs. Owners pick by age and level. Very young puppies (8-16 weeks) work on house training, socializing and first cues. The Beginner level bridges 16 weeks to 6 months with leash walking and impulse words like leave it and wait. Fundamentals, for 6 months and up, targets jumping and barking alongside core cues, while Advanced adds heel and recall under distraction. Private training comes in 45-minute blocks, including a first-time introductory session and multi-session bundles.
