Weslayan store classes

Petco store 480, the Houston Weslayan location, runs dog training at 5450 Weslayan, Houston TX 77005. Dogs from young puppies through adults can join six-week in-store group classes of hour-long sessions, with up to four other dogs and their owners.

The class lineup

Puppy class takes dogs 8 to 16 weeks old through potty training, socialization and foundational cues such as sit, down and come. Beginner, for 16 weeks to 6 months, adds loose-leash walking, leave it, wait, tricks and games. Fundamentals, for dogs 6 months and up, covers core cues, loose-leash walking and curbing jumping and barking. The Advanced group works on heel, recall with distractions and polite greetings. Private 45-minute sessions with a certified trainer are also offered, starting with a Private Lesson 101 for new customers, then 4- or 6-session packages with a customized plan.
