On Houston's west side, Petco store 1449 holds dog training classes at 10911 Westheimer Rd, Houston TX 77042-3203. The Westside store also houses grooming, an animal hospital and a vaccination clinic.

Classes by age

Puppies 8 to 16 weeks old start with potty training, socialization and first cues. Dogs from 16 weeks to 6 months move to Beginner, which adds loose-leash walking, leave it and wait. For dogs older than 6 months, Fundamentals works on everyday cues and on jumping and barking, while Advanced moves on to heeling, coming when called around distractions, and greeting people politely. Each group course runs six weeks of hour-long sessions with no more than five dogs. Owners who prefer one-on-one help can book 45-minute private sessions with a certified trainer, from an introductory lesson to 4- and 6-session packages.
