Hudson's Petco (store 2795, 205 Washington St) runs four levels of group training alongside one-on-one lessons. Book at (978) 562-4305 any day from 9am; the trainers finish at 9pm except on Sunday, when they close at 7pm.

From puppy to advanced

The youngest dogs, 8 to 16 weeks, learn foundational cues and get socialized in Puppy. Beginner follows for dogs up to 6 months, with tricks, games and loose-leash walking. Fundamentals, for dogs six months and older, works through the everyday cues from sit to wait, while Advanced adds heel and recall with distractions. Each course is six weekly hour-long classes.

Private sessions

For focused work, 45-minute private lessons come with goal setting and a customized plan, and new customers can start with a Private Lesson 101.
