About Petco Dog Training

Highland Ave classes

At 75 Highland Ave, Seekonk's Petco (store 758) teaches dog classes for every age and breed. Seekonk groups stay small, four other dogs at most beside yours, and each course runs six weeks of one-hour sessions.

From first cues to recall

Young puppies work on potty habits and meeting the world calmly. Older pups practice "leave it," "wait" and walking without pulling, while adult dogs in Fundamentals learn reliable sit, down and come and how to stop jumping. The Advanced course asks for heel, longer waits and a recall that holds up around distractions, with brain games mixed in.

Private work

Anyone wanting a trainer's undivided attention can book 45-minute private lessons, as single introductory sessions or in packs of four or six with a customized plan.

Bring along, and when

Seekonk's store asks owners to arrive with a leash, a collar or harness, treats, poop bags and vaccination proof. Seekonk trains Monday-Saturday 9-9 and Sunday 10-7; call (508) 336-0700.

What to ask
