About Pia Silvani Consulting, LLC

Pia Silvani Consulting is listed at 156 New Stock Road in Weaverville and describes itself as a canine and feline behavior specialist practice. It is the most credential-led practice in this metro, and the site is structured around consulting and teaching rather than around class enrollment.

What is offered

Five things are published. Behavior consultations are private sessions for dogs with behavioral issues. Organization consultations develop training and behavioral programs for animal welfare organizations and veterinary clinics. Lectures and workshops are delivered internationally – the site names Belgium, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Chile and Mexico among the places she has taught. Trainer mentoring coaches people entering the profession or preparing for the CPDT exam. One-hour sessions and a tool kit round out the list.

Local classes

The site carries a standing notice that she is "now offering training classes through Asheville Humane Society", with a sign-up link – so the group-class route into her teaching runs through the shelter's program rather than through her own practice.

Credentials, as published

The about page lists Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) and Certified Canine Behavior Consultant (CCBC). It says she has been teaching for over thirty years, that she previously worked as Director of Behavioral Rehabilitation for the ASPCA at its Behavioral Rehabilitation Center in Weaverville, and that she has since taken a position with Asheville Humane Society doing behavioral assessments, shelter dog rehabilitation and program development.
