About Puget Sound Detection Dogs
What they offer
Puget Sound Detection Dogs has offered K9 Nose Work training at its Everett facility since 2011. Nose work is a scent detection sport that lets dogs use their natural desire to hunt; it works one dog at a time, so reactive dogs can feel comfortable in class, and it suits sight- and hearing-impaired dogs. Classes run at all levels from introductory to elite, with preparation for competition, and the business also offers behavior modification.
How they train
Training follows a least invasive, minimally aversive (LIMA) approach.
About the trainer
Owner Christina Bunn has trained detection dogs for more than two decades, volunteers with county search and rescue, and says she is a Certified Nose Work Instructor, a nose work trial judge and an AKC Canine Good Citizen, S.T.A.R. Puppy and Tricks evaluator.
