What they offer

Pup Pawsitive runs dog training classes in Silverdale. Puppy Preschool teaches socialization, safe meetings and play dates along with listening to commands, and an obedience series runs from Basic through Intermediate to Advanced Obedience, covering skills such as walking nicely on a leash and going to a bed when the doorbell rings.

Sports and certificates

Competition classes prepare teams for AKC Obedience and Rally, and Agility is offered for dogs with basic off-leash control. Tricks and Dance courses use positive reinforcement, and owners can earn the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy certificate after a six-week course and then train for the Canine Good Citizen evaluation. Temperament testing helps owners decide whether a rescue or a new puppy suits their goals.

Josette Stenbom is an AKC ATT judge and a CGC, S.T.A.R. Puppy and Trick Dog evaluator who competes in AKC and ASCA events; she has raised and trained service dogs and worked with 4-H youth for over 25 years.
