About Quint Valley Gun Dogs
What they offer
Quint Valley Gun Dogs is a ranch in Bennett, about 30 miles east of Denver, owned and operated by Jerry and Dianne Yokum. It combines dog training, boarding and daycare, and a German Shorthaired Pointer breeding program.
Classes
The main training offer is weekend group classes for upland bird dogs and an off-leash communication class for owners who hike, camp or backpack with their dogs off leash, hunting breeds or not. Classes are held most Saturdays and Sundays in the morning, run one to two hours and are limited to five dogs, so the site asks owners to call ahead to hold a spot. Owners bring a check cord and a whistle, and the site notes that puppies bought from the ranch get a free introductory class.
One-on-one help
Individual training sessions are available for owners who need help with a particular part of their dog's training, and Jerry Yokum is available for owner consultations. The site encourages owners to take part in the training. Boarding and daycare use heated kennels attached to two enclosed dog parks. Class schedules and prices differ between pages on the site, so confirm the current details when you call.
