About Red Dirt Dog Training, LLC

Real-world board and train

Red Dirt Dog Training runs board and train programs for puppies and adult dogs from a seven-acre property in Monroe, serving Corvallis, Eugene, Philomath, Albany and Benton and Linn Counties. Abbie Leland started the business in 2021 after seeing what board and train programs did for her own dogs.

Method

The approach combines rewards with clear communication to build confidence and good decision-making, using tools such as e-collars, prong collars, leashes, food and play. Dogs stay with Abbie's family and herding dogs, with several daily training sessions, field trips to stores, trails and urban areas, and exposure to farm animals and wildlife.

Programs

The 2-Week On-Leash Basics program (dogs 5 months and older) covers crate manners, loose-leash walks, polite greetings and recall. The 3-Week Let's Explore program uses professionally fitted e-collar training for off-leash reliability on trails and patios. The 2-Week Puppy Success Program covers house training, crate manners, biting and calm behavior around people and dogs. A free call starts the process.
