About Rhodes K9 Academy

What they offer

Rhodes K9 Academy publishes an address on County Road 42 in Jemison and says it serves Chilton and Shelby counties. Its program list covers puppy training, basic obedience, advanced training, behavior training, aggressive dog training, dog anxiety training, group classes and scent detection. The home page also describes board and train as full-time residential training and off-leash training with distance commands, recall and distraction-proofing.

Problems it addresses

The home page names leash pulling, jumping on people and excessive barking, and the About page lists puppies with no foundation, high-energy dogs and dogs with reactivity among those it works with.

How the training works

The About page says most behavior problems are structure and communication issues, and that training focuses on clear expectations, consistent reinforcement and real-world environments rather than controlled settings. Every dog starts with a training evaluation.
