About Rivanna K9 Services LLC

Rivanna K9 Services is a Palmyra dog-training company, but almost nothing it publishes is aimed at a pet owner.

Who it trains

Its own summary: "Rivanna K9 Services LLC offers professional dog and team training for Police, SWAT, Military Units, Special Forces Units and other Law Enforcement agencies." The published catalog is "seminars, courses, longer schools (basic and advanced) on a variety of subject matters ranging from fundamental patrol functions to advanced SWAT and Special Operations", plus "assistance with program development, Instructor's & Trainer's education at different levels, decoy courses & training, detection courses & training, handler coaching". Dedicated pages cover decoy schools and seminars.

For pet owners

The site carries a "Civilian training" page and it is empty. If you want help with a family dog, ask whether civilian training is offered at all.

Who runs it

The head trainer is Armin Winkler, published as "An Applied Animal Behavioral Scientist by education and training" who "holds a diploma in dog training for Law Enforcement and is a certified instructor through the Justice Institute of British Columbia and Department of Criminal Justice Service". The site lists decades of international instruction to agency K9 units. That is the business's own account, and it is career history rather than a service a visitor can buy.
