About Rockhouse K9 LLC

What they offer

Rockhouse K9, which trades under the strapline Trained To Standard, publishes a service list covering "On & Off Leash Obedience", behavior modification, "Search & Rescue, Scent Detection, & MORE", and a puppy program and evaluation, alongside a board-and-train program and boarding. The business states it is insured by Kennel Pro.

Who runs it

The owner and founder is John Justice, a United States Army veteran who served in Iraq and Syria and describes himself as being from Man, West Virginia. He writes that he spent a lot of time as a boy handling hounds from rabbit dogs to coonhounds, bought his first German Shepherd as he got older, and "began training with local trainers in detection and apprehension" before making a career of it.

Credentials

The About page lists his instructor certifications: a Master Dog Trainer Certificate from Highland Canine Training, Canine Good Citizen Evaluator through the American Kennel Club Canine College, three Trikos Team Dog courses (Foundations, Teaching Basic Obedience and Behavior Modification), a Canine Communication Certification from New Skills Academy, a Puppy Imprinting & Development Course from Logan Haus Kennels, and a K9 Handler EMT Certification from K9 Medic. The page also notes a Secret security clearance.

Stated goal

The business's stated aim is "to provide our clients with the training and knowledge to turn their pet into a well rounded family companion despite age or breed." The owner also writes about a longer-term goal of developing a full servicing facility offering specialized courses such as service dog and detection work; because that is described as a goal rather than a current program, ask whether any of it is running yet.
