About Russell K9

What they offer

Russell K9 describes itself as a Christian based company along the Gulf Coast of Mississippi that trains dogs and teaches owners. It says it specializes in training family pets, behavior modification and competition obedience. Its training packages are an in-home 2 week program, where the dog stays and trains in the trainer's home and neighborhood, a 2 week in public program that adds real-world distractions, a private Lesson Program, a Puppy Program for dogs under six months, and a 4 week program for advanced or service dog training.

How the training works

The board-and-train programs cover come, sit, place, heel, down, house, food and leash manners, with video or picture updates during the stay, and end with a handover session teaching the owner to maintain the obedience. The site says these programs come with a lifetime membership for later questions. The 4 week program is described as suited to dogs that need extra behavioral work, dogs with a bite history and dogs with extreme reactivity issues. Private and puppy lessons are held in Wiggins on Thursday mornings and Fridays. The site publishes its program prices.

Background

The site says the team has over a decade of experience, ranging from training Military Working Dogs in the Marine Corps and law enforcement K9s to hundreds of pets.
