About Savvy Dog Training

Services

Savvy Dog offers personalized training from a facility in Kansas City. Day training is a drop-off program: dogs spend the day playing and socializing with a small group of other students while getting training based on a plan agreed with the owner. Private consults are one-on-one sessions at the owner's home, at the facility or online, with 30-minute walking consults for leash manners, semi-private options and intern days also available. Small group classes, training field trips and one-day workshops run periodically.

Approach

Owner Debbie Disch writes that she launched Savvy Dog in 2012 after a corporate career in finance and accounting. She follows the LIMA principle, "least intrusive, minimally aversive", and uses marker training with treats, play and praise for most training issues.
