About Silver Lion Kennels

Companion gun dogs

Silver Lion Kennels is a gun dog trainer in Acworth. It specializes in the companion gun dog, aiming to give owners and their dogs the foundation and skills to enjoy a lifetime in the water, fields, forests and family. Marie Madaras is the contact for training inquiries, and the kennel invites owners to call or email to talk through their dog and training goals.

Programs

Silver Lion Kennels offers bird dog training, retriever training, an obedience program, a started dog program and early puppy development through its Puppy Headstart. It also lists grouse guiding and events. Dogs in training must be up to date on vaccines including leptospirosis, DAPP, rabies and Bordetella, be on heartworm and flea and tick prevention, and have a clear fecal test, and owners are asked to keep dogs out of daycare and public dog parks for 30 days before training.

What to ask

Ask about program lengths, whether training is done as a kennel stay, the methods used, and pricing.
