About Simply Good Dog Training

Simply Good Dog Training is in-home training in Wilmington, and its own line is "honest, experienced, professionally certified positive reinforcement in-home dog training in Wilmington, NC". It is written throughout in the first person by Jenni Boyd.

The two programs

Puppy training, where the offer is to "help you navigate socialization, problem-solving, and every stage of puppyhood". And dog training for adolescents and adults from 21 weeks – aimed at a dog "pulling on the leash, jumping on guests, barking non-stop, or ignoring your commands". The pitch is squarely at busy households: "As a working mom, I know what it's like to juggle work, life, a busy household and dogs." The practical argument for in-home is time – "Save time with in-home sessions. I come to you so there's no extra travel or stress."

Credentials

The site lists a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner credential, graduated with distinction, and a Karen Pryor Academy Puppy Start Right Course Instructor qualification, and claims to be the only KPA Certified Training Partner in the area. Continuing education is published by name and date, including ClickerExpo LIVE and courses on station training and on safety in aggression cases.

What brought her here

The about page says she explored different training methods with her own dogs over the years and that "something never quite felt right, until I had a series of my own reactive Australian Shepherds". Her working line is on the front page: "You have to train the dog you have now to get the dog you want in the future."
