Single Malt Stockdogs raises and trains ABCA registered border collies for ranch and small-holding work in Prineville, Central Oregon, and offers training for owners' own dogs, whether they need to be started or finished. The approach works with a dog's natural herding instincts, helping handler and dog work as a team so a keen dog helps an operation rather than hindering it.

Training and lessons

Board and train covers yearling dogs being started, problem-solving and finishing touches on experienced dogs. Dogs are kept in secure lifted kennels and worked 5+ days a week. The rate is $800 per month with a 2-month minimum for started dogs; tune-ups begin with an evaluation and a plan. One-on-one handling lessons are also offered, and started and finished dogs, stud dogs and occasional litters are available.
