About Smart Pups LLC

What they offer

Smart Pups is a positive reinforcement training business in Salisbury led by Amanda, who describes training without pain or force. Training comes in four formats.

Group classes

Weekly classes include Puppy Kindergarten, basic and advanced obedience, and specialty classes such as leash walking, recall and scent work, so dogs can practice new skills around distractions. The advanced obedience class works on long and out-of-sight stays and working off-leash. Classes require proof of vaccines.

Behavior help

Behavior modification for aggression, fear, anxiety and reactivity starts with a longer consultation, followed by lessons that build healthier coping skills and reduce the stress behind reactive behavior.

Private and day training

In-home training builds a customized plan for anything from a new puppy to behavior problems, with a certified trainer teaching you at your house. Day training has the trainer come to your home and work with your dog while you are at work, with plans from two weeks to six months.

Adventure training

For dogs that need more exercise, the trainer takes your dog on an adventure walk or hike that combines physical and mental work with training.
