About Spence Canine Academy

Spence Canine Academy works from Alcorn Road in Oak Ridge and describes itself as serving Greensboro. Its published promise is blunt: stop the chaos, start enjoying your dog again.

What it takes on

The service menu is wide for a single academy. Private Lessons are sold for obedience, leash pulling, jumping and similar everyday problems. Behavior Modification is published as specialized training for aggression, anxiety, fear and reactivity – explicitly for dogs that need more than basic obedience. Board and Train Programs, Puppy Class and Group Classes fill out the pet side.

Service and therapy dogs

The academy publishes a separate Service and Therapy Dogs page, described as professional training for service dogs and therapy dogs tailored to a specific need. Those are two distinct disciplines and relatively few general trainers in the area publish either, let alone both.

Method

The business states that it does not believe in one-size-fits-all training, that every dog is different, and that programs are customized to the dog and the owner's lifestyle. It describes its work as real-world and results-driven.
