About Spot-On Dog Training, LLC

Spot-On Dog Training

Spot-On Dog Training, LLC offers in-home dog training and behavior counseling in the Houston area. It describes a dog- and human-friendly, collaborative approach that helps owners understand their dogs and modify behavior, whether they are starting fresh with a new puppy or facing problems that have snowballed for years.

How it works

Each client gets a plan of action fit to the family's needs and abilities and the dog's temperament and past experiences, then coaching and support while working with the dog. Owners who work long hours can have a professional trainer come by and train the dog at home, keeping it in a familiar environment. Training covers a common vocabulary of standard commands and goes further into behavior modification, so a dog learns to act appropriately for the situation. Owners also learn techniques to keep training as new needs arise.

Getting started

A no-charge telephone consultation is the first step.

What to ask

Ask who the trainer is, what credentials they hold, how many sessions a typical plan includes and what sessions cost.
