About Summit Homestead
Adventure dog training in Terrebonne
Summit Homestead is a dog training business in Terrebonne, launched in 2022 by trainer Michaela and serving Redmond, Bend, Sisters, Sunriver, Tumalo, La Pine and the surrounding Central Oregon trails. Training goes beyond obedience to build a relationship that makes everyday life easier and off-leash adventures possible, blending structure, trust and fulfillment.
The trainer
Michaela grew up helping her mom raise and train over 30 Huskies for dogsled racing and later worked in veterinary care. She looks at the full picture of a dog's behavior, including the owner's lifestyle, routines and goals, and adapts to each dog and household.
Services
The board and train immerses a dog in her pack on the homestead and on an adventure road trip, working on off-leash skills, pack socialization and behavior modification, with in-person lessons and daily video updates. Three-day weekend workshops cover off-leash work, reactivity and e-collar training. The monthly Cool Canine Club practices confidence around distractions plus biking, hiking and paddle boarding with dogs, and the online Summit Off-Leash School offers coaching, video tutorials, weekly Q&As and a forum.
