About Sunland Acres

Boarding, grooming and training on Fruit Cove Rd

Sunland Acres is a family-run pet care facility at 1376 Fruit Cove Rd S in Jacksonville that describes itself as caring for Jacksonville pets for 50 years. Its company history dates the founding to 1976, the start of its dog training program to 2016 and the Jr. K9 Academy to 2026. Today it has a full staff of professional trainers, groomers and kennel staff.

Training

Sunland Acres offers 100% customized training programs built for each dog's needs, and its boarding programs reinforce training and behavior. Dogs stay in spacious indoor and outdoor climate-controlled runs, and the facility uses a controlled, dog-centered setup in place of group play for safe socialization. Pickup and drop-off are designed to reduce anxiety.

Rescue program

In partnership with MAD Rescue, Sunland Acres boards and trains rescue dogs at no cost, working with each dog multiple times a day on obedience, confidence and stability in a program it describes as positive, rewarding and tailored, until the dog is ready for adoption.
