About Sunshine Obedience School

Dog sports training in Council Bluffs

Sunshine Obedience School, at 11092 240th St. in Council Bluffs, Iowa, was established in 1984, with its first classes held outside. The school moved into its present building in the spring of 1994: an air-conditioned, heated, fully matted and gated facility with a 42 1/2 x 60 foot ring, seating and a crating area for dogs. In 1997 it added a 60 x 100 foot dirt-floor building used solely for agility training, plus a 100 x 100 foot grassy area for outdoor agility classes and trials.

Classes and seminars

The school offers classes in obedience, rally obedience, agility, nosework and tracking. It also hosts obedience seminars, herding clinics and nosework seminars, and Gerianne F. Darnell, the contact for the school, offers her own classes, DVDs and a book.
