About Tails N’ Trails
What the business is
Tails N' Trails describes itself on its home page as "Rhode Island, Massachusetts & Wisconsin's #1 Pet Service," and its own summary line is that it "specializes in off-leash hikes, adventure daycare, group walks, recall and leash etiquette training, and customizable pet care." The site says the business model "is all about building long-term relationships between pets and their caretakers," pairing clients "with the same caretaker on a regular basis."
The training it sells
Training has its own page, which opens "We are more than dog walkers, we are dog handlers." It states that "our walkers are certified dog trainers who offer obedience, crate training, leash etiquette training, behavioral, reactivity, and off-leash recall training." Session lengths are published as a menu rather than a package price: the page describes "sessions that vary from 20-minute leash training for puppies, 60-minute behavioral training, to 90-minutes off-leash recall training," plus "30- and 60-minute sessions where you can either choose to be involved in the training or not." A separate Board & Train line is listed under Services, framed as "Your pet doesn't need a trip to the kennel for training. Your pet needs to 'train in a home' to 'live in a home' with rules and manners," and the site argues it "gets better results than a facility board and train because your pets daily life is richer in a home setting."
The rest of the menu
Alongside training the site books Dog Hikes ("80 minutes of on or off-leash freedom to sniff, explore, and play with other Tails N' Trails dogs in a local wooded area, open field, or shore"), a fully outdoor Dog Adventure Daycare with "3- or 6- hours of group walks, hikes, and other excursions," group and solo walks, pet visits, and boarding or in-home sitting. Boarding and in-home sitting carry a stated condition: "We ask for a two-month commitment before booking in-home sitting or boarding because we're committed to safety and want pets to feel completely comfortable with their caretaker."
Operating practice
The services page says the company is "fully licensed, bonded, and insured to offer pet care services throughout Rhode Island, Southeast Wisconsin and Worcester, MA," that "all of our staff undergo thorough background checks," and that walkers and sitters complete "a comprehensive training program" before taking on pet care. It also says all visits are GPS-tracked, and that regular walk clients are scheduled with the same walker "with a minimum of three days per week."
Who founded it
The team page says Tails N' Trails was "Founded in 2015 by Carolina Carver" as "a solution to meet the unique needs of her own high-energy working dog breeds," and that after starting in Rhode Island and Massachusetts it opened "locations in Milwaukee, WI, in 2022 and Worcester, MA, in 2023." The home page credits the operation with "100,000+ EXCURSIONS SINCE WE STARTED IN 2015," "700 FURRY CLIENTS" and "35 CPR CERTIFIED DOG WALKERS AND TRAINERS" across three locations.
