About Teach the Leash

What they offer

Teach the Leash offers dog and cat leash training and basic obedience in Tempe, Scottsdale and Phoenix, aimed at safe walks for exercise, enrichment and confidence. Dog training is sold as a three-session package that starts by evaluating how dog and owner communicate and what motivates the dog, then changes the tone of walks, practices rewards and corrections, combines heel with sit and stay and introduces advanced techniques. The package includes two follow-up calls by Zoom or FaceTime.

Getting started

A free readiness evaluation and quiz come first. For cats, the trainer says he evaluates honestly what is possible before selling any sessions. Pet sitting is also available, booked through Rover.
