The Doghouse Tri-Cities on West Clearwater Avenue in Kennewick helps dogs and their people build better communication, better manners and more confidence. It offers group classes, private lessons and virtual lessons, using positive reinforcement and teaching both ends of the leash through patience, persistence and consistency.

Classes and lessons

Puppy Class is a six-week open-enrollment series for friendly puppies under six months and their families, covering socialization, manners and basic training; Basic Class covers manners and basic training for friendly dogs over six months, also over six weeks. Leash Dojo is a class for graduates in which dogs earn leash belts for mastering leash manners, impulse control and attention. Private lessons can happen at the training facility, at the owner's home or at other pet-friendly places, and virtual lessons are offered in 30- and 60-minute lengths. Day Camp has a trainer work on the owner's goals for two hours at the campus, and Explorer Camp is a two-hour one-on-one session at home, in the neighborhood or at dog-friendly places nearby. Owners buy a class online and the team follows up to schedule.
