About The Keys to Dog Training

A Marathon trainer for the Keys

The Keys to Dog Training is run by Sharleen Belke, a professional dog trainer based in Marathon who works across the Florida Keys. Her stated aim is "bridging the gap between dogs & humans", empowering owners through relationship, education and fun. She describes herself as "a dog mom first" and says she became certified as a behavioral dog trainer through Stephanie Vichinsky & Method K9, after being mentored by Vinnie Somma of Say It Once Dog Training. Her own path into training began with her Newfoundlands, including rehabilitating one dog's fear reactivity.

Services and prices

Private 1:1 sessions start at $125 an hour, with a two-hour initial consult required. Board and train starts at $2,100 for two weeks; the dog lives with the trainer and several other trained dogs, and sessions are recorded and shared through private links. Day Training Camp is $75 a day and suits dogs continuing after private sessions, classes or board and train, mixing supervised social time with 1:1 work on sit, down, place, recall, leave it and loose leash walking. Group classes are $50 a class, run as a six-week course or as drop-ins, and range from basic obedience to leash reactivity.

Booking

Day camps and overnight boarding book online; everything else is scheduled by phone or text at (305) 697-2212.
