The Language Of Dogs
Overview
About The Language Of Dogs
The Language Of Dogs is Justin Silver's practice, listed at West 21st Street in Chelsea and split between New York and Los Angeles. His own page describes close to two decades working with dogs and their people, the CBS show Dogs In The City, a book of the same name as the business, and an animal-rescue charity he founded.
The range of work
The site puts the span plainly: from teaching basic foundations to a new dog owner through to the most advanced canine difficulties. Aggression is named specifically, including introduction aggression and dogs with no real socialization history. Beyond family pets, the page says he volunteers with shelter dogs and trains service dogs, sport dogs, working police dogs and dogs for film and television.
Method
Balanced is the word the site uses for itself — a method of communication described as nurturing with one hand and disciplining with the other, built on the idea that most dogs are not being willfully disobedient but simply are not speaking the same language as their owner.
What a client can expect
The reviews the business publishes describe video taken during sessions and a written or spoken follow-up with step-by-step instructions afterwards, and a free consultation is offered before any booking.
