Training and boarding in The Woodlands

The Mannered Mutt is a dog training and boarding business serving The Woodlands, Conroe and Greater Houston from Montgomery County. Owner and trainer Paulina Beck credits her late dog Chase with inspiring her career; she writes that in 2012 she became a Master Trainer, and later opened The Mannered Mutt. The team says it has helped hundreds of dogs.

How they train

The trainers focus heavily on a dog's state of mind and aim for a relationship that grows from trust and respect. Plans are tailored to each dog and owner, with clear step-by-step guidance and ongoing support. Work covers leash manners, obedience, recall, calm behavior around people and dogs, and more serious problems such as aggression or anxiety.

Programs

Three paths are offered: puppy training, board and train or day training (the trainers start the work, then coach owners so it sticks), and private lessons for owners ready to commit from the start. On- and off-leash obedience packages, boarding and daycare round out the services.
