About The Puppy Den

A site set aside for puppies only

The Puppy Den is the puppy arm of The Dog Den, and shares its website. The home page explains why it exists separately: "For our youngest pups, we created The Puppy Den – a special space designed just for puppies under six months old! Puppyhood is such an important time, and we're here to make sure every puppy gains the social skills, confidence, and positive experiences they need to become happy, well-mannered family members." Its address is given as 3124 Syene Rd, Madison, distinct from the two Dog Den locations.

Puppy Play & Learn

The flagship class is described in enough detail to judge fit: "Puppy Play & Learn is a coached puppy socialization class in Madison, WI, designed to help puppies build confidence, calm play skills, and good manners early – without the chaos of unstructured play. In this 45-50 minute puppy socialization session, puppies rotate through carefully matched play, enrichment activities (sniffing, licking, problem-solving), and real-life learning moments – while puppy parents receive real-time coaching from certified trainers." Staffing is specified: "Sessions are led by CPDT-certified dog trainers with years of puppy experience, with an assistant on the floor for extra safety and support."

What else sits under the puppy heading

The site's own Puppy Programs menu lists Puppy Daycare, Puppy Play & Learn and Puppy Training as three separate items, with the broader training menu – group classes, private lessons and behavior consults, and the Fit Dog canine fitness program – shared with The Dog Den.

Standards

The shared team page argues that certification matters in an unregulated field and lists the credentials held across the two locations: CPDT-KA, CBCC-KA, Fear Free Certified Professionals, Family Dog Mediators, Predation Substitute Training Certified Instructor, Certified Trick Dog Instructor and professional animal care manager and provider certifications. The stated commitment is that the trainers "are dedicated to minimizing fear, confusion, and pain." The site says the business has been "part of the Madison community for over 20 years" and is locally and woman-owned; the owner is listed on the team page only as Laura.
