Through the Leash Dog Behavior & Training is a dog behavior and training studio with a Houston team, reached at (940) 477-9787. Its philosophy is that training the dog is the easy part and training the human is the real work, so programs begin at home, where the dog lives, eats and sleeps, before moving into the real world. It cites certified trainers and more than 12 years of experience.

Programs

Basic Obedience is a private program built on come, sit, down, stay and heel, plus crate training and place work. Puppy Training covers dogs about a year and under. Off-Leash Obedience targets reliable recall and voice control around distractions. Behavior Modification addresses aggression, fear, anxiety, excessive barking, separation anxiety and leash reactivity, starting with an assessment and using positive reinforcement, desensitization and counter-conditioning, with board and train options. A small, handler-focused Group Obedience Class, leash training, private in-home lessons and virtual coaching are also offered.

Getting started

New clients begin with a meet and greet, and every plan comes from a full evaluation. Lifetime check-ins follow the program, and a client portal holds training plans and resources.
