About Tired Valley Retrievers
Retriever programs
Tired Valley Retrievers trains retrievers for field trials, hunt tests and the gun at its property just outside Cairo, Georgia. Its training page takes dogs from six months old, starting with basic obedience and working up to complex marking and cold blinds; ideal candidates are six months to a year, socialized, with some obedience and simple marks.
How the program runs
Training follows a five-day weekly schedule. Each day opens with yard work on obedience and controlled line manners, followed by field work that moves from single marks to doubles, triples and retired guns. New students get a few days to settle before an evaluation shapes their program, and the kennel limits numbers, which it says often means a waiting list. A Puppy Head Start program is also offered.
Who runs it
The site names Kirk Major as owner and head trainer. Call (402) 389-1635.
