About Tucumcari Dog Training

What they offer

Tucumcari Dog Training brings obedience training to Tucumcari so local owners no longer have to drive to Amarillo, Albuquerque or Clovis for a class. The trainer began training dogs more than 20 years ago and has volunteered her services as a trainer since 2019, leading two to four group classes a year with her own assistant dog and offering in-person private lessons on a limited basis. Lessons are for dogs and their handlers together.

Board and train and consultations

Board and train runs in a few fixed two-week sessions with one dog per session, and the owner spends the final day learning how to keep the training going; ask about current dates. Remote lessons are not offered because the training is hands-on, but 30-minute video consultations help owners sort through training tools and approaches. Dogs adopted from local shelters receive free lessons, and a pay-it-forward fund helps owners who cannot afford training.
