Nick is beyond amazing with his knowledge about working dogs. I’ve been to various trainers who were not able to properly work my dog.. instead they were shutting him down. My dog has improved tremendously with only a few protection sessions and I’m so grateful! I love having a trainer that actually takes the time to bond with the owners dog… my dogs all get so excited to see him because they know they are doing something fun! I can’t recommend him enough.

We can’t recommend Nick enough. He has helped us learn how to properly and responsibly use an e-collar with both of our dogs, always emphasizing balance and rewards instead of fear or force. The education and hands-on guidance gave us confidence, and the results speak for themselves. Our dogs are thriving, engaged, and clearly understand what’s expected of them.

We have two very different dogs, and Nick has been exceptional with both. Our German Shepherd is timid and shy, and Nick has been incredibly patient in building trust, allowing her to progress at her own pace while teaching us how to support her training at home and in public. Because of this, she’s becoming more neutral, confident, and comfortable around distractions.

Our other dog is a Dutch Shepherd that we intend to title in PSA. We always enjoy our training sessions with Nick, and the opportunity for structured bitework has been an incredible outlet for her. It’s helped build confidence and balance in her training so she remains a fun, confident dog to own and a pleasure for friends and family to be around.

What truly sets Nick apart is his depth of knowledge and his ability to explain the why behind the training. He takes the time to educate us at every step of the process, making sure we fully understand how to apply the training correctly and consistently. He’s always readily available to answer any questions we have, whether it’s about day-to-day training, new situations that come up, or specific concerns with either of our dogs. He has made the entire experience feel incredibly supportive and empowering.

Nick Lamson of UDB is the epitome of reliable and knowledgeable when it comes to all of my training needs. After coming from a trainer who drained my dog’s desire to work and took all the joy out of training, Nick helped show both me and my dog that training can be fulfilling, engaging, and fun again. He puts thoughtful care into building a strong training foundation that truly sets both handler and dog up for long-term success. Nick has turned my off-breed Labrador into a dog who not only holds his own alongside typical bite-sport breeds, but who genuinely loves the work. My dog is always excited to train and clearly enjoys working with Nick. I’m incredibly thankful to be able to call him not just my trainer, but my friend

Nick is great with dogs, no doubt about it, but he is very dedicated to training. That is a special thing about Nick; he doesn’t give up on things. If there is an issue, he will work the problem until he finds a solution. He has a solid foundation as a balanced trainer: bitework (handler & decoy), detection, tracking, obedience and probably some areas I am unaware of as well. You can trust that Nick will treat your pet like his own and get you the results you are after.

I have a pretty aggressive and possessive German Shepherd. I only feel comfortable boarding him with Nick, due to Nick's experience with working dogs and aggressive breeds.

These days I rest easy going out of town knowing Nick's taking care of my dogs in my absence. I've been boarding with Nick for over a year now and it's always been excellent.

Additionally, I've been training with Nick for over a year in competitive dogs sport (PSA). Nick is disciplined, consistent and dedicated. He's a great teammate and training partner, putting in the work.

I can't recommend Nick enough.
