About Unleashed Dog Training

Unleashed Dog Training publishes a street address of its own, 264 Howell Road #7, Hubert, NC 28539, under the line "IT'S TIME FOR YOU AND YOUR DOG TO GO TO SCHOOL!"

What they publish

Three priced programs head the list. One-on-one is "A session dedicated to anything you could possibly need. We come to you at your house or meet at a location of your choice", at $100. Basic Obedience is described as a "Competition level obedience course" of six weeks, one hour every Saturday, teaching sit, down, stay, loose-leash walking and leave it, with "an average 100 commands" taught across the course and graduation timed so "you will be ready to take the canine good citizen test and pass", at $300. Service dog training is offered either with the client's own dog or with a dog they help source, taking the owner "through the entire service dog process from start to finish", with lifetime training programs.

Their wider service list

Published in full on their own page: finding the right puppy, house-breaking, basic obedience, house manners, behavior modification, service dog training, trainer certifications, proper equipment, advanced obedience, tracking and trailing, trick training, and therapy and hospice training.

AKC testing

The site publishes AKC testing at $20 per test and names four: S.T.A.R. Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, Community Canine and Urban CGC, with an explanation of each drawn from the AKC's own program descriptions.

The stated method

"We are not a one size fits all style of training and we understand that all dogs learn differently. It is because of this that our training courses cover EVERY method of training!… Our success is in that we have the experience to be able to swap from method to method instantly." The site states its lead trainer "has over 20 years of experience", and that commands are taught "on a conditioned level, one command… one action… every time", with a focus on timing and position. Their service-dog mission page states they "have donated over half a million dollars worth of service dogs to wounded veterans since we came to Onslow County in 2009". The site also reproduces the Association of Professional Dog Trainers' LIMA position statement. Classes come with free repeat and make-up classes.
